Because You Heard the Call to ‘Tell Your Story’ and the Time is Now
Your story about losing and finding your way on the road to realisation is your gift to those who come after you on the Shaumbra path.
This is the Time
Adamus has sent out the call to Shaumbra to “Tell Your Story!” and recently Mark Twain echoed that call. You know it’s the time. You know that you know. Yet still …
You find it difficult to sit down and tell your unique story.

What’s Holding You Back?
Whether you’re already writing, about to begin or waiting for your passion to return, you’re running into your own resistance.
Maybe the words are playing peek-a-boo with you, or the storyline slips through your writing fingers before you touch the keyboard?
What’s holding you back is not always writer’s block. It is often not having the basic narrative tools to cope with the challenges that crop up as you write. Or, it’s not having a supportive and creative space to help keep you on course when the winds of distraction and demotivation blow.
No more excuses, Shaumbra!
I’ve created that supportive and creative space for YOU right here (before Adamus decides to send in the dragon to get you writing!)
If you’re looking for support to get your writing started, the basic storytelling toolbox, or a space with fellow Shaumbra to share your stories, the good news is, you’ve found it.
Here’s what’s waiting for you!
A 6-part online storytelling course to get you started on your storytelling journey, keep you on course or help get your dormant creative juices flowing again.
A monthly online Shaumbra gathering to provide you with a supportive and creative space to write and share your stories.
You get a supportive, creative space to:
- discover the structures and the magic of Storytelling
- engage with various narrative tools that help you transform experiences into stories
- re-discover yourself as a storyteller and value your own voice
- explore the multidimensional world of AND through language and storytelling
We all know that Shaumbra is a group of unconventional, unique individuals, so check if this is for you.

This Space is for YOU if:
- you know that telling your story is more important than the limitations you perceive around writing and storytelling
- you’re done with conventional storytelling, but you realise that to break those rules you also have to know how storytelling works
- you’re telling your story to leave a ‘code’ for those who follow, so knowing how to connect with the reader is important to you
- you want the storytelling journey to be enjoyable and inspiring, AND give you the tools to develop your own storytelling style

Stories from Writing Course Participants
Carmel creates a safe and encouraging space to discover your unique voice and gain confidence in your writing. This class was both enjoyable and meaningful. I would not have explored writing to this depth without the insights, perspectives, feedback, and tools that this class provided.
(Tania Hess. Shaumbra)
I thoroughly enjoyed the Shaumbra storytelling course Carmel facilitates – even though
English is not my native language. Carmel teaches us the basic and relevant tools for creative storytelling and then she chooses very appropriate writing prompts. Over the course we learn to approach writing in a totally different way than journaling – where many of us come from. Carmel doesn’t let you get away with makyo story writing and she does that
in a very supportive and appreciative way.
(Henriette, Shaumbra)
I am thankful for the wonderful opportunity to write our stories. We learned in the course
with Carmel to not only find words for our experiences, but also writing them in an interesting and entertaining way. I am happy to continue with the second course.

Your Course Facilitator
Hi, my name is Carmel Finnan and I’m one of the ‘oldie’ Shaumbra – I read my first shoud back in 2004.
Getting lost in the world of fairy-tales as a child was my first experience of multidimensional travel through story, an experience that has shaped the course of my life. I studied literature, taught literature and creative writing and currently work as an independent Communication and Storytelling Consultant.
What I’ve learned over the years is that writing and storytelling do NOT have to be complicated or arduous. There are simple, intuitive and enjoyable ways to teach and learn storytelling and that’s the approach I bring to all my classes.
